Milltech Martin Bright is proud to announce that its Certificate 3 Engineering Apprentice, Ben Smith, has been chosen as Hunternet’s First Year (2024) Apprentice of the Year.
The presentation was made at a ceremony at Newcastle Town Hall on April 11 and was attended by about 300 people including Ben’s family. Colin Smith and Fred Reis represented Milltech Martin Bright.
Ben is proving to be quite an asset for the company through his valuable contributions.

Founded in 1992, Milltech initially concentrated on the production of quenched and tempered alloy bar with the aim of largely replacing imports. At first, all processing was outsourced. Growth was modest but continuous until 2001 when the move to the purpose-built Tomago facility, equipped with its own gas furnace, saw the business embark on a sustained growth path. Read More
