Milltech has completed the installation of a second continuous plating line for bars up to 160mm in diameter. The new line represents some of the most advanced and efficient continuous plating technology in the world.
Our plating lines are able to operate automatically and work unmanned overnight to take advantage of lower electricity prices. The unmanned operation now includes automatic size changes. Alarms and cameras alert our operators to problems which they are usually able to rectify from home.
The continuous chrome lines produce bars with a very uniform chrome layer that extends to the full length of the bar. This is in contrast to the older style tank technology which resulted in non-
concentric chrome deposits requiring additional work to polish the bars back to a concentric layer.
